Contextra isn’t trying to be everything. A few places where an established tool is the better call:
DOCX, on purpose
Contextra translates Word documents — not spreadsheets, slide decks, InDesign or agency XLIFF packages. If your work is overwhelmingly certified and legal documents, that focus is the point; if it isn’t, a broad suite like memoQ or Trados fits better. Your memories and term bases still move in and out via TMX/TBX.
Built for the solo professional
There’s no shared server, vendor management or real-time co-editing yet — shared memory for teams is on the way. For agency supply-chain work with live collaboration, a cloud TMS is the right tool.
New, and open by design
The incumbents have 15–30 years and deep agency adoption behind them. Contextra is new — but because everything is local and exchanged through open TMX/TBX standards, trying it costs you nothing and locks in nothing.
